Now a days while seeing the talent of Chi.Sow.Shreya (Nellore) and Master Abhiram (Hyd) in the present series od 'Padutha teeyaga' (children) I am recollecting the days of my duty as producer at DDK Hyd. producing 'Chiruswarasamaram'. Both the above were winner and runners in that programme of singing competitions in DDK, Hyd.After the classical music round, in semifinals, I introduced an item of 'singing a film song composed in hindusthani ragas.
After some research on my own with my little (but confident) classical music background and with the help of the then judges of that series, (Dr. Seshulatha, Dr.M.Chittaranjan and Smt.Jayamani Narasimhan) enlisted some film songs in different hindusthani ragas and given the children  participants. I want to share some with u my dears....
Raga Bheemplas is very much nearer to our 'Abheri' a 'oudava shadava raga' (Abheri arohana-sa ga ma pa  ni sa and avarohana being sa ni da pa ma ga ri sa) 
Very famous thyagaraya krithi in abheri being 'Nagumomu ganaleni'. Mysore Vasudevachari also wrote a song 'bhajare manasa'. 
if Gandharais sung softly, then it can be called Bheemplas in Hindusthani.
So let us enjoy some of the famous songs in 'Abheri' alias 'Bheemplas'. right?....Those r 1 ..'Akasa veedhilo.'..film 'malliswari' (old gold) 2..'yeh zindgi usiki hai..film anarkali (in hindi sung by Lata Mangeshkar) and 'jeevithame saphalamu' sung by Jikki 3. 'kannulatho chuchedi guruva' from film Jeans and on the top of it 'khoya khoya chand' ever green Rafi song from 'kala bazaar'..Thank u very much for sparing ur valuable time here in my blog of punnaga flowers. They are called 'RamabaNam' pulu in rayalaseema. Ok fine..as Shakespeare said..what is there in name when the fragrance is it's identity! right?

Friendz...This is the pencil sketch of maa ayyagaru Puttaparthivaru by Sri Rajaiahgaru. Maa ayyagaru wrote on this that' dear brother, I am very much impressed with ur art. But what to do? we should wait for the good days of recognition yet to come.' This, as per Rajaiahgaru, was in the year 1954. Isn't it very nice? Maa ayyagaru visited many a places of Telangana also, and people used to like his literary calibre. 'Vidwan sarvatra pujyathe'..Is n't it friendz?

Friendz.....This is the season of jasmines(mallelu) where ever u go, u can see them either  in the form of their own garlands or in the combinations of other flowers like kanakambaram. Any where the soothing smell of these flowers provokes our heart of hearts to wish for 'Summer ever' though it is difficult to tolerate the 45degree sun. Mallepoovu is very attractive and pleasing flower and so there were  so many songs in pictures of yester years.
The above is also one of those popular film songs  which was favorite of  yester years 'to be married girls'. Here r some photographs of this most attractive plant full of flowers that is in our sweet home.......

There r so many other film songs like 'Yevaru nerperamma yee kommaku puvulimmani remma remmaku' (by Krishna sastrygaru) and 'Malle teega vantidi maguva jivitham' (Song by Dasaradhigaru) and so on. Any how alllllllllllllll these songs view different shades of this beautiful flower. Is n't it friends?

Friendz.....I love this song for Kamal's exuberance in classical dance, Jayaprada's tenderness in expressions, lyricist's excellence in nrityartha prakatanam and most of all super director Viswanathgaru's selective and meticulous  care on all the aspects of the film 'Sagara Sangamam'.pl. u also enjoy this  once again.....I think u also like this...veryyyyyyyyyyyy  much.....

This 'ADYATMA KEERTHAA' of Annamacharya was, is and will be one of my favourite songs. Right from 1975s, I am mad after this song. One will immerse in deep weep while listening to this song in sriman Balakrishna Prasadgaru's expressive voice. I as a Producer, have recoreded  thrice Sri Balakrishna Prasad garu along with his son Sri Anila Kumar for 'Annamayya Padarchana' (DDK Hyd) in 2008 and 09 too. I requested him to sing this song for that prog. also. I just can spend hours listening to this song. I also like to sing my self  and that's how I have recorded this.

This is one of the best songs I learnt from Dr.M.Chittaranjangaru as a student in 'Yee paata nerchukundam" prog. that was being aired on every Monday at 7.45am. This prog. was very popular as 'Light music lession on AIR'. So many music lovers, students, and teachers too used to learn songs sitting at home thru' this prog.
 I came on transfer from AIR, KADAPA in 1981 June and   was very fortunate to participate in this programe as a student  for three or four years.No light  music now a days at all except a very few writers and singers! 
In AIR, Hyd. my colleagues Smt. Vinayamani (Tr.Ex as me) and Akella Seetha (Announcer in Vividha Bharathi) also used to participate as students as per their convenience. I feel hurt when people ask us 'Is there AIR still alive?' I wish 'Good old days' to knock the door of AIR once again! Friendz...Is it possible?

I admire  Mrs.Abburi Chayadevigaru for her  deep thoughts and style of writings. I also admire her skill in artistic home keeping, pet liking and mainly 'simplicity. Here is the letter I received from her when I sent my book 'Bhasha para sesha bhogi-Puttaparthi' to her.
