Maa intlo 'Ganapathi'
Friendz.....Hope u have performed today's 'Ganesh chaturthi' very well in ur homes. These r the images of my 'GANESHA' friendz....
.....
..
Friendz...My mother Smt Puttaparthi Kanakammagaru was following a practice during 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. Some body told her 'if u want Ganesha to fulfil ur wishes, u pl. don't send the idol of Ganesha for nimajjanam. U can keep the idol (after puja and udwasana) either in rice bag or godrej. U ask him to apologise u for not sending him for nimajjanam till next year's vinayakachavithi. Lord Ganesha will definitely hear ur prarthana and fulfill ur wish. Next year u can replace the old idol Lord Ganesha with the new idol, ofcourse with a new wish.
The following year after puja and udwasanam, u can send the old idol of Ganesha for nimajjanam and keep the new idol in the place u want either in the rice bag or godrej even.
Friendz,, Our wishes never end u know? So my mother used to practice the same procedure for a very longgggggggggggggggggggg period.
'Peddala maata- chaddi moota'...So  I too follow the same practice till now..U can see 2 idols in my puja place today also.
I purchase small and cute and short idols to fecilitate my practice of keeping the idol in godrej....
Any way.....Hope u had plenty of  assis of 'Lord Ganesha' this year too....Take care friendz..Dont see moon today....of course..in Hyd. it is raining since afternoon..No hope of clear skies till late night....

Dear Friendz....

            'Sree Ganapathini sevincharare'
This song in raga 'sourastra' lingers always in my ears. The process of the Ganesh Puja and the fruits with which we have to offer Ganesha is well described in this kirthana. 'Vatapi Ganpathim Bhajeham' describes the 'Tantric' 'Veetha raga' rupam of Ganesha. In vaishnavism 'VISHWAKSENA' takes the charge of the 'Supremacy' over all the evil GANAS. Though the names r different, both  peform the same duties of saving the devotees from negetive influences, if they r properly worshipped.
In our family, maa ayyagaru  administered EQUALITY betweeen both 'NARAYANA' and 'SIVA' and so being children of that family we too follow our parents.
I like the story of 'Ganesha' very well. His wisdom mostly. His Intellect. His spontanity while working as 'scribe' to Vyasa Bhagavan in writing puranas and so on.
Friendz....wish u a happy and fruitful 'GANESH CHATURTHI'.....

Friendz,,,,Actually I purchased this IDOL of Ganesha in one of the shopping malls near Panjagutta. Ganesha with flute attracted me and he entered into my house. I like the very idea of 'VAMSI GANESHA', Ganesha being GURU of all SASTRAS, even he is considered as 'MASTER OF MUSIC'. This year i bought a GANESHA made of soil for puja and worship him for the 'HAPPY LIVING' and 'Healthy Living' of all of my dear friendz ..u ..allll.

Kontakalam Video Song - Chandramukhi

...

Friendz....
I love this song for it's composing, lyrical value, locations and ..and..beautiful Nayana thara even. I am fascinated to hear this song many a times 'cause I love the raga 'Abhogi' equally in which it is tuned.
In my childhood,  I was learning 'Varnams'. when my guru Sri Kondappagaru was teaching this varnam, I was very very attracted towards the raga and for even Patnam  Subrahmanya Iyyer garu's
skills in exalting all the intrinsic features of the raga. .
Unknowingly also I used to practice the above varnam many more times.
Now the above song equally attracted me for it's fine tuning in a classical raga along with it's beautiful lyrics and starring. friendz..This is the foto of my guruvugaru Sri Kondappa (desciple of sri Pedda Jamalappa who was a sishya and follower of the great Mysore T.chowdappa garu)...
He was a music teacher in Sri Ramakrishna High School. My elder sisters Smt Karuna, Tarulatha and Tulaja and brother Aravind and lil.sis..Anuradha also learnt music from him. As a school teacher, he taught us many patriotic songs also to sing in school on different occasions. He was very good at singing and violin also. He was a good master and very good human being too. I met him last in 1998, when he was sick with fever, and  took his blessings while I was going to Tirumala for Lord Venkateswara swamy's darshan. As I got my Doctorate from OU in 1996 October, I was due for TIRUMALA Darshan. On the way I went to Kadapa, met my music guru and after 'Vodobiyyam' in my maternal home by my brother Aravind and sister in law Smt Rajyalakshmi, went to Tirumala. U   might be thinking that 'how this story is connected to Abheri ragam. Yes yes..I will tell u now..I told kondappa garu that I can't forget his teaching of varnams (specially Abhogi)  in all the three 'KALAMS' (musicians can understand this word ) teaching of 'manodharmam' and practice in school on Independence Day celebrations, school day  and VIP visits too. And ..and...returning home with lots and lots of prizes too..Friendz..Famous cine actress, the very innocent rustic beauty of 'Chitchor' Zarina Waheb' was my class mate in Kadapa..We enacted as Siva (herself) and Parvathi (me) in 'SIVATHANDAVAM' of maa ayyagaru in one of the school days u know?..

Friendz...How can I forget a 'musical, dramatic and competetive childhood' of mine and..and by birth a 'well noted life'  (as daughter of Puttaparthivaru) 'cause of  many a birth's 'PUNYAM'........?

Down the memory lane.....
Dears......There may be some unforgettable moments in our lives in the form of 'FOTOS'....Is n't ir? When ever we turn the pages and touch the fotos, the complete scene of that fotograph appear before our eyes and heart refreshes with new energy. Is n't it? One such sweet remembrance of mine is here to share with u all......

Friendz...In 1978 I joined in AIR Kadapa, as a Tansmission Executive (Duty Officer). As I was participating in AIR programmes, prior to my joining, I continued my activity of wrting Playlets, short stories, singing light music, Devotional songs and Folk songs too. In 1979, famous Telugu Novelist Shri Gollapudi Maruthi raogaru joined there as Programme Executive. He was very active and jovial too. Though most of the time he was either on leave or 'Un applied DUMMA leaves', but when ever he was there, he used to produce programmes in that very small sngle number studio of AIR Kadapa, in co-operative colony of KADAPA.
He wrote many 'small skits' with messages like 'family planning', 'Following Q system' 'Safety precautions in kitchen for ladies' 'Savings' and so on. Famous media personalities of now a days, Dr.Voleti Parvateesam (DDK Senior Prog. exceu)), Sri Kalaga Krishna Mohan (Music composer and Senior Prog. execu. AIR) Sri Kapardi (Senior Annour. AIR) were my collegues of those days. We all used to participate in those skits of Gollapudigaru, in a very joyous atmosphere. In one of his skits on family planning, i acted as a mother of 6 children and in that skit, he made me shout for her lost child in a very shrilled voice 'chittiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'....and that skit of very small duration (45secds) was being played many a times through out the day in all the three transmissions. And so, our listeners were mad after  that skit and when ever they find our vehicle outside, they used to enquire our collegues as to 'who played the role of mother very very naturally in that skit? So our collegues  gave me a nick name 'jingle Rani'.....nice na? Now, the story behind the above foto....I wrote a playlet namely "O inti Ramayanam"on family planning. Sri Gollapudi produced that play in which myself, sri Aaraveeti sreenivasul-another stalvert of AIR, Kadapa, and others participated...... Sri Gollapudi without any hesitation, acted as a street vendor who sells  flowers. Though he was very famous novelist till then, he never posed like that. He used to visit my house seldom, and share coffee, tiffin and even lunch sometimes along with my then collegues Voleti parvateesam, Kapardi and krishna Mohan. Afterwards, he got promoted as Assistant Station Director at KADAPA AIR itself, and resigned as he got more chances in pictures...Dr.R Anantha Padmanabha Rao also worked at AIR Kadapa more than 5 to 6 years. Gollapudi and RAP (as he was called by collegues and  artists) participated in a weekly dialogue programme like 'bava maradulu' which was equally famous in those days.....So..friendz..many more fotos and stories to share with u all ....Pl. do peep in here regularly.........

Unforgettable...
Friendz...When ever we find some time to recollect some unforgettable moments and persons in our lives, our eyes get whetted  unknowingly. As per the saying 'Life is full of experiences and incidents.' Some may be happy, some sad and some more unforgettable even in sleep. Each and every unforgettable experience though bad or good, teaches us something or other. People u come across also (that u can not forget at all) teach as to 'how to be and not to be like them'. Do u agree my dears?
But 'GOOD and BAD' differ person to person. The thing which is GOOD to u might be 'BAD' from ur enemy's side.
But above all this, ETERNAL truth is always respected and followed. Right?
Ok..Now friendz...these days,  'Down the memory lane', I got this foto of 1972 in my album.....

This was the foto taken for the hall ticket of B.Sc. final exam. Butta Chetulu (bouse)  was the fashion of those days. How is the foto friendz?...Hmmmmmmmm......OK....No need to say...I understand...Pl. see the next foto also, taken at Madras, during our 'Biological Tour' in 3rd year of B.Sc. Next to me is my dearest friend Prabhavathi Annavajjhala...She was very dignified and intelligent even..Though I was having very long hair, in those days, I was fascinated to her curly  plait. We both used to attend my father's lectures on RAMAYANA and MAHABHARATHA at Visveswara Swamy Temple Kadapa, and used to prepare daily notes on those lectures. No body told us to prepare, but we both were doing this on our own and used to share views  in the college or at home (when ever time permits)....
She was very reserved and firm. I used to admire her dignified way of behavior. Even after my marriage in 1981, we continued our friendship. After her marriage  also, we were happily meeting and exchanging our feelings now and then. But in late 2000s, she fought a lot with Cancer and at last defeated by the deadly decease in 2006. I always feel for her and experience a great loss in her absence. On recent FRIENDSHIP day, (3rd August) I paid homage to my dearest friend Prabhavathi. Friendship is like a precious scent that never losts....Do u also have such friendz, my dears?

varamulicchi brovavamma- A traditional devotional song..

..

This is a traditional VARA MAHA LAKSHMI song in Telugu I learnt from my dear mother Smt.Puttaparthi Kanakammagaru in my childhood. I still sing this song on Varalakshmi Vartham day before VARALAKSHMI devi ammavaru..Now a days only doing varalakshmi puja is being followed. Singing traditional songs on LAKSHMI amma varu  is almost a forgotten synonm. In our childhood, in my house this puja was being held with utmost devotion and tradition. In the evenings 'perantam' was also held calling muttaiduvulu and giving themtambulalu. In addition, lots and lots of songs on Lakshmi ammavaru were being sung with all devotion.
My mother also wrote many a songs on 'VARALAKSHMI' along with her own simple but melodious tunes. We all used to sing in group those songs. People nearby our houses used to practice those songs in my mother's guidance and sing along with us.
More and more traditional songs were remembered and practiced.
Wearing new clothes, doing puja and in the evening going to all the houses, singing songs and coming back homes with tambulalu was a good rememberences.
Now a days, singing traditional songs is a 'FORGOTTEN PRACTICE'...Wat to do friendz?
